Technical Sales Specialist - Western Canada

Location: Based in British Columbia or Alberta, Canada
Reports to: Technical Director

Position Overview

Santai Science is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Specialist to join our growing team. This field-based position is ideal for a results-driven individual with a strong scientific background and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting our chromatography instruments and consumables, building relationships, and delivering exceptional support to customers across the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • - Manage the complete sales cycle within the assigned territory and product range.
  • - Service existing accounts and actively pursue new business opportunities.
  • - Deliver exceptional customer experiences without compromising business performance.
  • - Prepare detailed quotations and negotiate pricing within authorized limits.
  • - Promote upselling and cross-selling of additional products and services.
  • - Attend trade shows, conferences, and customer events to generate leads and promote offerings.

Technical Support & Demonstrations

  • - Provide technical and application support to customers.
  • - Answer technical customer inquiries and offer product guidance.
  • - Organize and conduct hands-on product demonstrations.
  • - Ensure customers are effectively trained and realizing the full benefits of Santai Science products.

CRM & Reporting

  • - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customers and opportunities in the CRM.
  • - Provide territory overviews and updates upon management request.
  • - Submit weekly sales activity reports.
  • - Provide accurate sales forecasts and market insights.

Continuous Improvement & Market Intelligence

  • - Continuously enhance knowledge of products, customer needs, and sales strategies.
  • - Monitor industry trends and gather market intelligence to support strategic decisions.
  • - Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer experience and business processes.
  • - Perform other duties as required.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field with relevant chromatography instrumentation experience.

Experience

  • - 2-5 years of experience working with chromatography instruments.
  • - A minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a relevant sales role is highly preferred.
  • - Relevant knowledge of flash chromatography products is required, and experience in routine laboratory environments is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • - Ability to manage time effectively, self-motivated, and well-organized.
  • - Committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • - Proficient computer skills including PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP and CRM systems.
  • - Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Work Environment

    • - Field-based position with on-site visits & demonstrations to customer locations, providing face-to-face interaction with clients and prospects.
